In 2018, Cincinnati’s premier sneaker boutique, Corporate, and Bigger Than Sneakers (BTS) created the Annual Cincinnati SneakerBall, a fundraising event which features a picturesque evening of entertainment, tuxedos, gowns, and of course, sneakers. Join us on Saturday, August 5th at Hotel Covington for the 5th Annual Cincinnati SneakerBall! This celebration of sneaker culture and community will feature art, music, engaging activations, and the opportunity to connect with top professionals, influencers, and sports figures in the city – all in support of a great cause. Your attendance makes a difference! This year’s Cincinnati SneakerBall proceeds will help further BTS’ mission in the community by supporting the continued growth of our programs, events & initiatives, including our mentorship program: BTS Academy! Inner City Youth Opportunities has been serving our Cincinnati community since 1993 as a Non-Profit 501 ( C ) 3 focusing on some of our most at-risk children in grades K – 12. ICYO is working to help close the education gap for our low-income children. When resources and support is not available at home, just being in the classroom is not enough to keep students on grade level. Christen Collins is a Cincinnati, Ohio based artist that is on the pursuit of social practice through self-expression and art making. She is a student of life with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the Art Academy of Cincinnati and was formerly an Instructor in their Community Education Department where she was always collaborating on new and engaging projects, that could be shared and explored in a variety of different ways. She is currently a grad student at Savannah College of Art and Design, studying Creative Business Leadership in hopes to open her own studio in the future. With the intention to bring more creativity to the people, she writes an art blog for Everything Cincy and loves to cultivate artist experiences for others. Her main focus is stepping more into her role as an artist, in an effort to help influence positive change and growth. While doing all of this she creates a variety of art with different mediums that include, prints, greeting cards, wellness products, folk art, craft work, installations, jewelry making, and ceramics! The mission of the Building Industry Association of Northern Kentucky is to promote and enhance the integrity and visibility of the construction industry and the members of the organization through advocacy, communication, education and political action. Founded in Covington in 1955 by 16 residential contractors, the BIA of Northern Kentucky has grown to become one of the nation’s largest chapters of the National Association of Home Builders. The organization’s jurisdiction covers 12 counties including Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Mason, Pendleton, Fleming, Robertson and Owen. Association membership represents approximately 10,000 persons employed in the construction industry. The trade organization changed its name to the Building Industry Association of Northern Kentucky in 2017 to better align its name with its growing and diverse membership. [read more]
