Pig Works is the nonprofit 501(c)(3) parent organization behind the Flying Pig Marathon, the Queen Bee Half, the TQL Beer Series and the FCC3. Pig Works is a race experience company with three goals: 1) Create fun participatory sporting events for individuals and groups of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. 2) Contribute to charitable causes that support the growth and development of our community here in Cincinnati and beyond. 3) Promote a lifestyle that weaves movement and health into the fiber of our community and extends beyond the bounds of our event days. In 1963, the four Daoud brothers pulled together enough cash to purchase Hamburger Heaven in Cincinnati, Ohio. Along with burgers and fries came a recipe for Cincinnati-style chili. In 1965, they added flavor to the recipe with their secret 13-spice blend, changed the restaurant’s name to Gold Star and a chili legend was born.
